Meet Our Team

Dr. Jeanne Engel DVM

Owner

I started my time here as an Associate Vet for Dr. Catey since July of 1996. In 2010, I bought the practice from Dr. Catey and changed the name to All Paws & Claws Veterinary clinic. I grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA – I went to college at Penn State and then vet school at Michigan State. My first job out of vet school was at Catey Veterinary Clinic.

As a child I always wanted animals but my parents were not animal people, so I had to fight with them to get each one I had – so I started small with a goldfish and worked my way up from there. When I was in third grade I was able to take a class that was focused on veterinary medicine, and that is when I knew what I wanted to do. My favorite thing about working with animals is being able to help them even if they cannot tell me what is wrong. I enjoy the challenge of trying to figure it all out all while helping the animals and owners enjoy life together.

I love general small animal medicine the most – that way I can see a little bit of everything and my day is never boring. I am also very passionate about helping shelter animals and had served on the shelter board for many years.

My husband and I have 3 dogs, 3 horses, and a menagerie of outdoor cats. We love the outdoors and spend many hours fishing, horseback riding, kayaking, hunting, and boating. One of our favorite thing to do is relax on our porch watching hummingbirds and orioles.

Dr. Kelli Luttman DVM

I started as an assistant in August 2000 and have been a licensed veterinarian since May 2020. I’ve lived here my whole life. Graduated from Prairie Heights High school, Graduated from Purdue with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Masters in Biology and Minor in Psychology from Purdue. And got my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University. I began working because I love animals and genuinely care about their well-being.

I knew that I was in the right profession on my first day of work at Catey Vet Clinic, co-workers were great, Doc was a great mentor, and I of course loved the animals. My interests are in mixed general practice (large & small animal) with some exotics in the mix too.

In my free time, I enjoy CrossFit, running, hanging out with my dogs and kitties. My parents help me a lot with taking care of my fur babies because of my very busy schedule. They have been very supportive of my goals and I could not have made it this far without them.

Dr. Bryan Mohr DVM

I am the owner of Mohr Veterinary Relief Services and a relief veterinarian since April 2021. I graduated from Purdue Vet School in 1989, married my wife Julie Mohr also in 1989 and we have 3 sons. Bought our own veterinary practice in 1992 (Greentown Animal Hospital) which we successfully operated for nearly 29 years. After selling that practice we moved to Coldwater Lake, Michigan to start a new venture providing relief veterinary services, especially surgical procedures.

Growing up we always had livestock and pets and I have always been interested in science and medicine so veterinary medicine was a natural fit. I also love working with people so I get much enjoyment out of helping both people and animals at the same time.

I have known that I wanted to be a veterinarian since I was in about 7th grade. I have had a lot of support and encouragement from friends and family along the way and I never waivered from my dream. I believe that God gave me the talents and desire to be where I am today because this is where He wants me to be and I am blessed to reap the joys of this profession.

My primary professional interest is becoming a better surgeon. I enjoy both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery but I strive to be more proficient in all surgical procedures presented to me within the scope of my personal skills. I regularly attend seminars to advance my knowledge and skill in both surgery and medicine but I tend to concentrate on surgery as my career progresses. I simply just want to be the best advocate for my animal patient’s health that I can be.

My wife is Julie and we have been married nearly 34 years. We have 3 sons – Brandon 33, Chris 32 and Zach 24. Chris is married to Katie our daughter-in-law of 6 years and they gave us Harlow our first granddaughter in July 2022 ! I enjoy travelling and seeing other parts of the United States with my wife and I especially enjoy living on the lake and going out in the boat ( and sometimes fishing!).

Jessica Kosmerick RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

I started working in 1989 and later became a Registered Veterinary Technician. I was born and raised in Angola and started working at the clinic when Dr. Catey purchased the practice from Dr.Eberhart.

I knew that I had made the right in my career since I have always enjoyed working with all sorts of critters.

My husband, Matt and I have horses, dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, and geese. We love spending our spare time outdoors riding ATVs, gardening in the summer, and playing video games in the winter.

Jessica Fordyce RVT, Office Manager

Registered Veterinary Technologist

I started working for Catey Veterinary Clinic now All Paws & Claws in July 1998 as a Veterinary Assistant. I loved the field and decided to go to Purdue University to become a Vet Tech. I graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor in Science for Veterinary Technology. I went on to pass my state and national boards to become registered. I am now a Licensed Veterinary Technologist and the office manager here at All Paws & Claws.

I love my job and working with the public and the animals. Every day is a new adventure. In my free time, I like to spend it with my family and friends. My husband and I have 6 kids, 5 daughters, and a son that keep us busy with their activities. We love to watch movies, hang out with our friends, and go on vacations when we can. We also have 5 dogs ( 2 blue heelers, a Rottweiler, a puggle, and a beagle mix), and 3 cats to add to our crazy household.

Breanna Ridenour RVT, Assistant Manager

Registered Veterinary Technician

I started working here in June of 2015 as a Veterinary Assistant and worked my way up to becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician.

I was born and raised in Angola Indiana, started working for All Paws and Claws the summer of my junior year as an assistant, graduated from Angola High School in 2016. After high school graduation, I started tech school through the International Business College of Fort Wayne, I graduated from IBC in 2018 with my Associate’s Degree of Applied Science. I took and passed my State Boards to become a Registered Veterinary Technician shortly after graduation.

I have always loved being around animals, however, I knew I wanted to work with animals after being involved in the county’s 4H program. My favorite thing working with animals is being able to help and educate owners on the best way to care for their pets.

I knew I was in the right profession when I was excited to come to work to help my patients with a team that is more like family.

My husband and I have 2 dogs, a german shepherd (Sadie Mae) and a border collie (Chance), 2 indoor cats, and 1 outdoor cat. When my husband is not in the tractor working on the family farm, we are usually at the family property on Pigeon Lake or hanging out with family in some way or another. My husband and I introduced a baby girl into our family on April of 2022.

Brittany Smith RVT

I have worked here as a veterinary assistant/receptionist since April of 2021. I graduated from Prairie Heights High School in 2010. Then graduated from Vet Tech Institute at I.B.C in February 2012, with an Associates degree of Applied Science of Veterinary Technology.

Since a very young age, I have had a great love for animals, especially dogs. I always have known that I wanted to work with animals.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends outside of work, also with my two dog (Nadira and Maggie). I also enjoy reading, home decorating, shopping, coin collecting, and metal detecting.

Mataya Friend RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

I am a veterinary technician and I began working at All paws and Claws on October 3rd of 2022. I was born and raised in Angola IN and am still thankful to be a part of this community and town that I call home. I attended Prairie Heights Community School until I graduated in 2011. From there I pursued a college education first at IVY Tech and then at the International Business college Vet tech institute. I graduated from The Vet Tech Institute in 2014.

Growing up working with animals was always a passion of mine. It didn’t take me long to realize that on the farm and at home our animals would often get sick or hurt and be in need of veterinary care. After a few visits from the Veterinarian and my younger self was set on what we wanted to be. While I may not have decided to be a Veterinarian in the long run I got pretty close and decided to be a Vet Tech was what I was meant to be !

I believe I knew I was in the right profession when work stopped feeling less like work and more like an opportunity to do what I enjoy every day and use the gifts God has blessed me with to make a little bit of difference in the world .

Outside of work my biggest inspiration would have to be my family which consists of my Husband Andrew, my son Oakley, and all of our Pets! We have 14 pets in total. Our family loves to be outdoors and we spend a lot of time caring for our three horses, five dogs, and several barn cats! I would have to say my passions outside of work and animals include cheering on my son in his sporting events, & spending time with good friends and family.

Julie Mohr RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

I graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 1987. Worked at the Purdue Veterinary School ICU for a little over 1 year, then married and moved to Marion, IN. My husband, Bryan (DVM) and I have 3 grown sons. We owned our own Veterinary hospital for 29 years, sold our practice to purchase my parents cottage on Coldwater Lake and now do Relief Veterinary work where we come in as a team and primarily do surgeries at All Paws and Claws and other clinics in the area.

From the time I was very little I had a love for, and a way with, animals. I always thought I would use my love of horses by becoming a therapist that uses horses to aid children and disabled persons for their improvement. However, my mother brought a flyer home from our family dogs vet when I was a junior in high school about becoming a Veterinary Technician and that is the path I followed.

Veterinary medicine is a wonderful field to be in because not only do I get to help the pet, but their human parent too. It is a great feeling to be making a difference in the world doing what I love!

I enjoy spending time with family, either at home or traveling. A goal is to visit all the National parks & hike what I can before I am unable. Game nights and cards are the best, but I also like to relax with a good book too. This past July, we became grandparents to a beautiful little girl (which is a real treat since we raised 3 boys) & I plan to spoil her as much as is possible!

Kerrigan Yontz RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Hi, I’m Kerrigan, a Registered Veterinary Technician, and I joined this wonderful team in December of 2023. My roots run deep in Steuben County, specifically in Hamilton, where I was born and raised. After graduating from Angola High School in 2019, I embarked on my academic journey at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.

At Purdue, I dedicated myself to the field of veterinary nursing, earning both my Associate’s in Applied Science and my Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Nursing by May 2023. Returning to my hometown after obtaining my degree was a deliberate choice—I wanted to contribute to my community by providing care for both clients and their beloved animals.

My passion for veterinary medicine took root during my upbringing surrounded by horses, cattle, goats, and a decade-long involvement in 4-H. The countless visits my animals had with veterinarians sparked my fascination with the field. What I love most about my work is the opportunity to interact with a diverse range of animals, making each day a unique and fulfilling experience.

The moment I realized I was in the right profession was when helping animals and their owners ceased feeling like a job—it became a calling. Outside of work, I share my life with my husband, Tyler, and our Australian Shepherd, Duke. We cherish our time outdoors, whether it’s kayaking, spending quality moments with family and friends, or exploring new places together. Life is an adventure, and I’m grateful to be living it surrounded by those I love

Jamie Gill RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Hi, I’m Jamie! I originally hail from the Lagrange/Steuben county area. My educational journey led me to International Business College – Veterinary Technician School, where I earned my Associate’s Degree in Animal Science. Currently, I’m working towards completing my bachelor’s degree in pre-veterinarian medicine and pursuing certification in hospice and palliative care. My future goal is to become a Certified Companion Animal Rehabilitation Therapist.

My lifelong dream has been to work with animals, a passion that traces back to my childhood. Assisting in surgeries is something I find particularly fulfilling. Additionally, I have a soft spot for old souls, the elderly animals. It brings me immense satisfaction to help pet owners enhance the quality of life for their aging companions, ensuring they experience more good days than bad.

My journey in the veterinary industry transformed from a job into a way of life as I became deeply passionate about helping animals and their owners. This profession feels like the perfect fit for me.

Outside of work, I am happily married with three children. Our family enjoys camping, hiking at Pokagon, movie nights, and tending to our little hobby farm. We’re always up for new adventures and love traveling. In the rare moments of free time, I indulge in my love for cooking, gardening, and reading books.

 Brooke Denton

Surgical Assistant/Receptionist

Hello, I’m Brooke Denton. My journey in the veterinary industry began back in 2004 at Catey Veterinary Clinic. Since then, I’ve worn various hats, serving as an assistant, receptionist, and surgery assistant. What drew me to this field initially was my profound love for animals and a desire to help them in any way I can.

There’s something incredibly fulfilling about working with animals. Whether it’s comforting a nervous pet during a check-up or assisting in surgery to improve their quality of life, every moment spent with them is rewarding. Knowing that I’m making a positive difference in their lives brings me immense joy and satisfaction.

Outside of work, I’m a true outdoor enthusiast. Growing up on a farm instilled in me a deep appreciation for nature and animals. When I’m not at the clinic, you can often find me spending quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy horseback riding, hunting, fishing, gathering around a campfire for stories, and floating down the river. Being outdoors rejuvenates my spirit and reminds me of the simple joys in life.

I started working in vet med as an assistant at a mixed animal practice when I was 15. I love to help all the critters that come to see us.

I knew that I was in the right profession the first time I foaled out a mare on my own. The adrenaline rush of it, how fast everything happened, and the reward of bringing a life into the world.

I have 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 dogs, and a cat who like spending time with. I also enjoy anything that lets me be outside with my 2 dogs like camping, fishing, boating, and hiking.

I have always had a passion for animals, so when I got the opportunity to apply at All Paws and Claws in high school, I did not hesitate. (Of course the kitten and puppy snuggles are another one of my favorite things).

Outside of work I spend my spare time with my family, friends, and my 2 puppies (Zariah and Artie).

Claire Lorntz

Veterinary Assistant

I am a dedicated Veterinary Assistant, and I joined the team in December 2023. I was born and raised in Angola, and after completing high school, I pursued my passion for animals by earning an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from International Business College.

My journey into the veterinary industry is rooted in my deep love for animals, a passion that has been with me throughout my life. As a 10-year 4-H member, I showed cattle, pigs, and chickens, discovering my calling in caring for animals and becoming their advocate. Understanding and addressing their needs became crucial to me, and I found fulfillment in making a positive difference for these voiceless creatures.

Beyond my professional life, I am a family woman. I have been married to my husband, Lance, for seven years, and we share the joy of raising our 5-year-old son, Grahm, who is currently in kindergarten at Fremont Elementary. Our family includes a cherished terrier mix named Denali, whom we rescued at the tender age of 12 weeks. We bond over our love for the outdoors, frequently engaging in activities such as camping and 4-wheeling.

My commitment to the well-being of animals extends beyond the workplace, reflecting my unwavering dedication to both my profession and my family.

I knew I was in the right profession when I found a way to positively impact animal well-being while staying true to my morals.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through working out, golfing, and fishing, and I have a love for music. I’m an identical twin, have a younger sister, and share my home with a pet cat named Pluto. During my college years, I was recognized as the Outstanding Marching Band Member for the University of Notre Dame Marching Band.

Trista Meier

Veterinary Assistant

Hi, I’m Trista, and I’m a Veterinary Assistant at All Paws and Claws. I was born and raised right here in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 2021. I graduated in April 2023 and have been with All Paws and Claws since starting my externship, which quickly turned into a full-time role.

I’ve always loved being around animals and have felt a deep connection with them. For me, working in the veterinary field is about being a voice for those who can’t speak for themselves. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing animals improve and thrive, and I knew I was in the right profession when I started looking forward to each follow-up appointment, eager to see the progress our patients had made.

Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my family and friends, and of course, with my two dogs, Jagger and Bailey. They keep me busy and bring so much joy to my life.

I am originally from Fort Wayne, IN but have spent most of my life in Steuben County. I attended school in Fremont and continued my education in Criminal Justice. I have always loved animals and working with the public, so this opportunity seemed like a perfect fit for me. My favorite thing about working with animals is the unconditional love they show you.

I have been a client of the clinic for years, so I have gotten to know most of the staff prior to working with them. The care they have shown not only to my pets but also myself personally has always been above and beyond expectations. When my position came available, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to return the same to others and it was a win/win situation getting to work with animals all day and people that I have gotten to know over the years.

My husband Matt and I have raised 3 wonderful children and have been blessed with 2 precious grandchildren. We enjoy camping on the weekends, gardening, kayaking, bonfires, spending time with our extended family, and hanging out with our dogs.

Darci Holden

Receptionist/Assistant

I graduated high school in 2021. I was born and raised in Angola. My mom, Dawn, had worked at All Paws and Claws for close to 20 years as a veterinary receptionist. So I’ve been around the office my entire life. I love keeping our furry friends happy and healthy.

I knew I was right in this profession because I love to talk and why not answer the phone and talk about animals! My boyfriend, Brandon, and I have one bernadoodle named Rudis. In our free time, we enjoy taking Rudis to the lake or staying in to watch movies.

Marisa Burris

Receptionist

I’m Marisa, and I’ve been a receptionist here since August 2023. Originally from Leo, IN, I made the move to the Angola/Fremont area from Woodburn, IN, driven by love and the desire to create a happy home with my fiancé, three dogs, a flock of chickens, and a duck.

I earned my A.S. in Business Administration from Ivy Tech in 2014 and followed it up with a B.A. in Business Management from WGU in 2018. My journey into the veterinary industry began with a dog date that led me to move my life an hour north. Having worked for various veterinary offices and hospitals before, landing a part-time position at APC was incredibly fulfilling. The amazing staff, the interactions with clients and their pets, and the joy of working with animals make my time at APC truly enjoyable.

My love for animals has been a constant in my life. Despite a detour into accounting after college, I found my way back to the veterinary field. Though I wish for a full-time role, I’m grateful for every moment at APC, surrounded by cats, dogs, and a diverse array of exotic and farm animals.

Outside of work, I’m not just a receptionist; I’m a person with a full life. Alongside my fiancé, parents, and four-legged companions, I tend to our homestead. I enjoy activities like painting, crafting, and listening to audiobooks. I’m excited about starting a family and continuing to build my life in the area that I now proudly call home.

Megan Hardiek

Receptionist

Hi, I’m Megan—a dedicated professional currently serving as a receptionist at All Paws and Claws. I began my journey with the business in December 2023. Originally from Avilla, IN, I made the move to Churubusco after buying my first home in 2021. Eventually, my boyfriend and I found our home in Angola.

As for my educational background, that’s something I prefer to keep undisclosed. My venture into the veterinary industry in Angola was motivated by a longing to reignite my passion for animals. The leisurely pace of life in the town provided the perfect environment for that rekindling. Working with animals daily has truly become the cornerstone of my happiness, making it almost impossible for me to have a “bad day.”

Beyond the realm of my professional life, I take pride in being the owner of two charming cats, Tank and Mojo. Sharing my life with an extraordinary man, I eagerly anticipate further exploration with All Paws and Claws and the discovery of the delightful charms of Angola.
